An educational institution is the crown jewel of the growth and development of the society. Queen Mary Public School was started in 2003 in Panickankudy, an underdeveloped area in Idukki district. The institution was set up in view of the constant demand of the locals for an educational institution with emphasis on character formation and English education of the children who were backward in all respects. It aimed at the holistic development of the society and the growing generation.
This school follows CBSE syllabus and has affiliated to CBSE.
The institution is inspired by the example of venerable Fr. Varghese Payyappilly, the founder of the SD Congregation, a good educator and who was the manager of the most famous St. Mary's School in Aluva.
The institution is managed by the sisters of the Destitute, St. Vincent Province Kothamangalam. It is gratifying to note that this institution is able to change the very face of a society, despite the many struggles.
